Juleen Johnson

Juleen Eun Sun Johnson is an interdisciplinary BIPOC artist and writer. Johnson was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted when she was three. She was taken to Valdez, Alaska where she spent her formative years. Johnson is a MacDowell Fellow and the recipient of the Isabella Gardner Fellowship. Her visual art has been shown around the U.S. in major institutions and galleries. 

Johnson has been published in many different journals and anthologies. Her poems have won prizes from different literary journals and contests. Johnson’s poems have been nominated for the Best of Net and she has been nominated for Best New Poet. Her chapbook, “Topography of Materials” is available for purchase. 

Johnson earned an MFA in Visual Studies from PNCA and an MFA in Creative Writing from University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the founding editor of Trestle Ties: A Landscape of Emergence. Johnson currently lives on the Oregon Coast with her Husband and two cats.
